Dental braces are something we have been listening for long now. The most common complaint within the dental office is “my teeth aren’t properly aligned”. They don’t look good once I smile! In children temporary distortion in teeth alignment is common. But with teenagers, we must have an in-depth check out the teeth how the teeth are getting settled within the mouth.
Why dental braces??
It’s just not the looks but with improperly aligned teeth many consequences will encounter if they’re not corrected. Many of them are really serious. Let’s find out
• Misaligned teeth can cause chewing problems and cause digestive problems.
• Misaligned teeth cannot get cleaned easily in day-to-day brushing so bad breath is a common complaint.
• Faster wearing and tearing of teeth, gums, and jaw bone thanks to bad forces.
• Chipping of tooth /teeth.
• Can create problems in TMJ,(joint which connects our upper and lower jaw).
• Speech problems.
How can we know we have an alignment problem?
In your routine dental checkup ask your dentist that if you would like any corrections in alignment anywhere.
Sometimes alignment problems aren’t so obvious for a common man to find out.
What are the types of dental braces?
There are primarily made from stainless still with titanium metal. The advantage of this sort of braces is it’s more pocket friendly than the other two means it cost less than the other types of braces.
They are made from tooth-colored ceramic material. The advantage of those braces is that they don’t look oblivious as the metal braces do. They look more natural mix well with tooth color.
What are invisible braces/Invisalign?
They are made from clear and transparent material which is soft and thermoplastic in nature.
They can be removed for special occasions and for brushing /eating.
Self-motivation is required to realize good results.
Dental Braces vs Invisalign: Which is Better?
When you prefer to have traditional braces installed, you are, in effect, giving your orthodontist permission to stick a large piece of metal into your mouth. Admittedly, although they are available in pretty colors, they’re never pretty. Despite how you check up on braces, they’re unsightly, unlike Invisalign aligners that are, in effect, invisible.
The trays used to help straighten patients are made from a transparent, custom-made thermoplastic material. People hardly notice them.
Invisalign is more leisurely than braces.Of course; both teeth-straightening methods cause a particular amount of discomfort. After all, there’s literally an ongoing battle inside your mouth together with your trays or braces pushing against teeth to place them in their proper places. However, Invisalign trays exert gentler pressure compared to braces, which makes the previous much more comfortable than the latter.
There’s also no risk of getting your gums cut because the Invisalign trays just rub smoothly against your gums.
You can remove Invisalign trays anytime you want. While eating, brushing, going for special occasions it can be removed and kept aside for some time. That is one of the biggest advantages of invisible braces/Invisalign.
What about the cost?
It depends on how many trays you need to get your correction done.Less trays less expensive. Usually traditional braces cost you between 30000 Rs to 50000 Rs. With invisible braces it is slightly higher than that between 60000 Rs to 80000 Rs.
The ideal age of starting the braces treatment is 10 to 14 years of age as this will yield quick and predictable results. At this age, bone is soft so its easy to make changes in teeth alignment.
